Born and raised in small town Kansas, Jacque Forsher earned her BFA in 1983 from Pittsburg State University, in Pittsburg, Kansas.
Since moving to Texas in ‘88, Forsher’s work continues to be greatly inspired by the diverse culture found in the DFW metroplex. After participating in several Iconography workshops, Forsher’s fascination with sacred art was further influenced, and is often reflected in her current work, which is an exploration where her modern style and contemporary representation find an interesting harmony with the more formal symbolism and technique of traditional iconography.
As one of the founders of the Slant Artist Collective, Forsher enjoys the collaborative inspiration that being around other artists brings. In addition to being a resident at Goldmark, Forsher is also a member of the Visual Arts League of Allen.
