About the Exhibition
Jacqueline Smith is a Dallas-based printmaker specializing in fine art linocut and woodcut, with a working studio at Goldmark Cultural Center. Her current solo exhibition, "Frontier: Western Desert, Nostalgia, and Macedonia," showcases a compelling collection of her recent works. The exhibition explores themes of memory, identity, and place, drawing inspiration from both the American West and her experiences abroad.

Influenced by her upbringing in west Texas and her studies at East Texas A&M University in Commerce, Smith's art often reflects her affinity for wide-open spaces and the enduring spirit of the region. The "Frontier" exhibition also features pieces created during her recent artist residency at Brashnar AiR in Skopje, North Macedonia, demonstrating how her artistic practice has expanded to encompass new cultural landscapes. Her prints evoke nostalgic images drawn from both her American upbringing and her experiences in Macedonia, creating a dialogue between these distinct cultural memories.
