About the Exhibition
Before Siri and Waze, Munson once received directions that stated, “there is usually a big dog sleeping under the tree at the second corner. Turn left there.”
“Hmm. The dog definitely represents a turning point,” she thought. Munson realized that although the dog may not always be under the tree, he has become a local landmark in the landscape. A landmark could be almost anything that symbolizes a moment in our lives. If the dog wasn’t under the tree, she would still look for him and turn at the second corner. With that thought in mind, the title of this exhibit developed.
About the Artist
“A few years ago, I got out my pastel sticks and started a new chapter in art. I still paint oils every now and then, but when I paint with pastels, I feel that I am painting, drawing and sculpting in unison. I love making art and the change to my media has led me into winning awards and selling.
As you can see with this piece, I embrace color and tend to brighten up Mother Nature in my work. Vincent van Gogh is credited as saying, “Color in a picture is like enthusiasm in life.”
Thank you for joining me on my journey to count every heartbeat, make every moment matter and live life to the fullest.
Most of all, remember that “You are never too old to chase your dreams,” (Diana Nyad). I hope you enjoy my work.”
