As a Dallas-based abstract artist working primarily with resin and mixed media, my work is a direct reflection of my dual life as a creative and a technologist. During the work day, I navigate the structured, logical world of the tech industry. After my work is done, from my studio at the Goldmark Cultural Center, I immerse myself in the fluid, unpredictable nature of art.
My process is a dialogue between control and chaos. I am drawn to resin for its chemical properties—its viscosity, its translucent layers, and its transformative ability to cure into a permanent, glass-like state. Using this medium, I embed various materials, exploring how structured, technological concepts can be translated into organic, visceral forms. Each piece is an experiment in balancing precision with intuition, seeking to reveal the hidden beauty at the intersection of the technical and the abstract.
I find a fascinating parallel between writing code and catalyzing a chemical reaction in resin. Both are processes that follow specific rules to create something entirely new and often unpredictable. I incorporate themes from science and technology into my abstract compositions, embedding textures and pigments to create layered topographies of color and light. My work is not just an escape from my technical profession, but an extension of it—a way to visualize data, map unseen systems, and find the artistic poetry hidden within the logic that governs our world.
