  • Goldmark Cultural Center 13999 Goldmark Drive Dallas, Texas, 75240 United States (map)

The Goldmark Cultural Center is proud to present The Order of Chaos in the Garden, a solo pop-up exhibition that is on display in the Goldmark Artists’ Showcase from 14 February 2022 to 27 February 2022. The exhibition represents a diverse collection of vibrant watercolor works by Goldmark artist Lisa Ballew.

A reception for the exhibition will be held at the Goldmark Artists’ Showcase from 1.00pm - 3.00pm on Saturday, 19 February 2022. Lisa Ballew will be present during the reception to speak to visitors about her exhibition and artwork. In addition, Lisa's Goldmark art studio will also be open during the reception, so visitors can tour her workspace and see more of her watercolor works. Live music will be provided for this reception by acoustic guitar performers "Trio Jasmine".

My work varies in origination and concept. Sometimes a definite idea or image is the beginning point, but at other times an image is discovered during the creative process and then developed. Watercolor is my primary medium. Watercolor allows the creation of multiple layers in a landscape painting. The history of a place, nature’s place before human development of the land, and the strokes of man’s hands on the land, can all be seen when studying the paintings, drawing, and text of the watercolors.

-Lisa Ballew
