The Goldmark Cultural Center is proud to present “The Art of Healing: Evolution & Rebirth”, a pop-up exhibition featuring new works by Goldmark artist Camie Scott. “The Art of Healing” is on display in the Goldmark Artists’ Showcase from 19 June 2023 until 2 July 2023, with an opening reception on Saturday, 24 June 2023 from 3.00 - 5.00pm. Camie will be present at the reception to respond to questions or comments about her work.
About the Exhibition
My vision for this collection of work is to show the evolution of my life as an artist.I thought it would be interesting to show the viewer the difference in color palettes from the start of my journey of putting the brush to canvas. My artwork has grown to consist of a brighter palette, featuring cheerful elements such as flowers and spiritual symbols. Since the start of my healing journey, I have grown to have a strong foundation of meditative practices, spiritual connection and following my intuition. I am confident that I have been divinely guided and protected my entire life by spirit. For that, I am grateful. For that, I am grounded.

About the Artist
Growing up in a small town south of Dallas, there was plenty of time to explore the depths of creativity and art. Camie has embodied a creative spirit for the majority of her life, influenced by her grandmother from a very young age. Art became a way for her to express herself.
Camie currently resides in Dallas, TX where she is a business owner and works as a hairdresser. Her free time is spent at her art studio where she explores an array of mediums. Often, she gravitates towards painting with acrylics but you can also find her exploring textured art, mixed media, alcohol inks and even woodworking. Camie enjoys the entire process of creating, from constructing the canvas to watching it come to life by pouring a glaze to seal it all together. She is always eager to learn a new skill, challenging her mind, pushing her limits and tapping into her full potential.
Most of Camie’s most recent work is inspired by her healing journey from childhood adversity. As a child, she discovered that she could often find an escape amongst the chaos in the family home through painting and drawing. After some time, she had an epiphany of realizing that art had always been there for her. Creativity had always been her safe space.
