We are testing our outdoor projection setup one more time this weekend to work out a few bugs. The film we selected for this impromptu movie night is a classic of Soviet cinema: "Operation Y and Shurik's Other Adventures", a series of 3 slapstick comedy short films by director Leonid Gaidai, from 1965.
75 minute total running time. There are subtitles, but the film is not too heavy on dialogue. Besides being very funny, the film is an entertaining window on the lighter side of mid-'60s Soviet life and culture.
