Join us on Saturday 11/7 at 2:00pm in the Goldmark Cultural Center’s Auditorium for an artist talk presented by Goldmark artist Hugh DeWitte, who will be speaking about his recent experiences at a 2-week artist residency at the Michigan Legacy Art Park in October.
Founded in 1995 by sculptor David Barr, the Michigan Legacy Art Park is a contemporary sculpture park located on a 31-acre hardwood nature preserve in the wooded hills of Benzie County, Northern Michigan. The Park maintains an annual residency program that provides the opportunity each fall for a visiting artist to explore the Park and work out of a local art studio.
During his presentation, Goldmark artist Hugh DeWitte will share examples of the oil painting artwork he created during his residency and speak about the nature of the residency and his day-to-day experiences at Michigan Legacy Art Park.
The presentation will conclude with a visit to Hugh’s Goldmark art studio to check out the different paintings and sculptures he is currently working on.
This presentation is part of a series of artist talks highlighting different artist residencies around the world, in the midst of our own International Artist Residency in November, during which the Goldmark Cultural Center will be hosting South Korean painter Sundoo Kim.
