For this week’s movie night, we are featuring several short films including:

• Gruff (2024), an animated short film on intergenerational bonds depicted by paper puppets (9min 53sec)

• Bonita and the Bandit (2024), an animated tv western featured in the short film Gruff (3min 50sec)

• Papers, Please (2011), a short film based on a border control checkpoint in a fictional Eastern European Cold War era country (10min 53sec)

• L'école des facteurs (1947) - “School for Postmen”, a comedy short about a postman in a rural French village. An early work by French filmmaker Jacques Tati (15 min)

• Пёс Барбос и необычный кросс (1961) - “Dog Barbos and Unusual Cross”, a slapstick comedy short about a gang of poachers who go fishing with dynamite. An early work by Soviet filmmaker Leonid Gaidai (10 min)
