Guest speaker and friend of the Goldmark artist community Gayle Younghein will present a lecture on Latin American folk art, including the traditional ceramics of Oaxaca. The lecture will take place immediately after our Community Potluck Lunch.
Gayle Younghein is a cultural anthropologist, and for decades, she has traveled the world photographing and lecturing on the importance of cultural diversity.
Younghein is an expert on Latin American folk art and has curated museum and gallery exhibitions on folk art and weaving, including a United Nations Photo Exhibition, "Work of Rural Women," in 2003.
Gayle has lived in Europe, Mexico, Canada, Puerto Rico and Australia. She currently resides in Oklahoma City.
