About the Exhibition
Quadrant presents four distinct clay works, each showcasing a unique sensibility and technique. Eliza Au’s precise, digitally fabricated and slip-cast plates, adorned with elegant, patterned rims, invite us to explore the intricate, open motifs that reveal a sense of peaceful order and lightness. In contrast, Ginny Marsh’s deeply textured slab platters, crafted with minimal tools, recall the primal nature of the clay while confining it within a distinct quadrant. By contrasting the approaches of each artist to repetition, the exhibition highlights the range of possibilities available when working with clay.

While raising a family on a small organic farm, she taught at the University of Louisville, worked as Editorial Advisor on Ceramics for Chilton Books, exhibited her work and gave workshops all over North America. Her work is in several permanent collections , and she was one of only a handful of ceramic artists included in the Indiana State Museum’s 2016 Bicentennial Exhibition, “200 Years of Art in Indiana.” Her work has been featured in major pottery books. She led a residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity and attended one at the Medalta International Artist-in-Residence Studio.
