Studio 127A, Building 13999
Vin creates miniature sculptures that are assembled from deconstructed and recontexualized scale-model components, 3D printed designs, and scratch-built parts, which he has meticulously weathered and distressed.
Vin's sculptures grapple with the concepts of cataclysm, decaying ruins, and the ecological footprint of industrial civilization. These big and weighty themes are rendered down into a smaller and more comprehensible scale through Vin's miniature dioramas and three-dimensional landscapes of abandoned machinery and rusting vehicles.
Like many Goldmark artists, Vin studied fine arts at the University of Texas at Dallas, where he earned his MFA, and he now works as a ceramics lab technician at Dallas College.
