Zuri Araizan

Studio 222B, Building 14001

My work is deeply rooted in imagination, memory, and transformation. I grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, where creativity first became a powerful part of my life. One of
my earliest influences was my kindergarten art teacher, who recognized my curiosity and encouraged me to explore drawing and painting freely. That early encouragement helped
me realize that art could be more than just an activity, it could become a lifelong way of seeing and understanding the world.

My grandparents also played an important role in nurturing my creativity. They supported my curiosity and imagination, reminding me that making things with your hands
is a meaningful way to express yourself. Their encouragement gave me the confidence to keep creating and to trust my ideas.

Today, my artwork often blends elements of nature, animals, and surreal imagery. I am fascinated by transformation—how forms can shift, merge, and evolve into something
unexpected. Through painting and drawing, I explore themes of strength, instinct, and connection between living things. Creatures, human forms, and natural elements often intertwine in my work, creating dreamlike scenes that feel both familiar and mysterious.

Growing up in North Carolina and being encouraged at such a young age shaped the way I approach art today. I strive to create work that feels alive, imaginative, and emotionally powerful. Each piece is an exploration of possibility—an invitation to look beyond the ordinary and into a world where nature, imagination, and memory merge together.
