About the Artists
Raymond Butler is a multidisciplinary artist whose work revisits his childhood growing up in South Dallas in the 90s. Each piece is a snapshot of the small moments food, cartoons, neighborhood adventures, and family challenges that shaped how I saw the world. Through vibrant color and playful exaggerated imagery , I recreate the humor and survival of those years. Every artwork is a different memory and story but all of them come from the same place.
Robert S. Garza is an illustrator and muralist born and based in Dallas, TX and has been actively working since 2018. His focus on his queer and ALAANA identity has made his work recogned as he strives to create representation for those communities in the gallery space and beyond.
Robert is an illustrator, muralist and designer based in Dallas, Texas, and his work is an expression and exploration into emotion, masculinity and empowerment. He draws inspiration from street art, graphic design, character illustration and graphic novels and in my art he tends to use bright colors, bold illustrative linework, abstract shape work, and human figures with expressive postures.
His work has shifted focus to telling a continuing story with his viewers. He has been fascinated by the use of mirrors and the innate relationship people share with them. He wants to tell evolving stories about self-affirmation and emotional growth, and using viewers' perspectives and self-insertion is key by letting them literally see themselves in the work.
