Exhibition Statement
In an age of relentless noise, Jacqueline invites us to pause.
Be Still and Know takes its title from Psalm 46:10—a call to quiet the spirit and recognize something greater than ourselves. Jacqueline renders this sacred stillness in two forms: luminous acrylic paintings and intimate ceramic figurines. Together, they speak a single language of contemplation.
The paintings layer translucent washes of color, building depth through patience rather than force. Figures emerge from soft light, their faces calm, their postures grounded. These are not hurried marks but meditations—each brushstroke an act of presence.
Alongside them, Jacqueline’s ceramic figures stand in quiet solidarity. Hand-built and carved, their surfaces retain the memory of touch. They do not perform or demand attention. They simply are. In their stillness, they become companions to our own.
This is not art that shouts. It is art that waits—for the viewer to slow, to breathe, to meet it halfway. Jacqueline creates space for sanctuary, reminding us that to be still is not passive. It is a radical choice.
Be still. And know.
